Here are FAQs concerning the upcoming visit by His Holiness. If your concern is not addressed here or under the “Information for Ticket Holders” menu to the right of this page, please email us and we will do our best to answer your questions.
I would like to request His Holiness’ signature, or dedicated prayers for a specific person, or to offer a donation or gift to His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Can Maitripa College help?
Is the seating assigned or first come first served?
Seating is assigned at the events on May 9 and May 11.
Can I leave the venue during lunch?
Yes. You will need your ticket for re-entry.
Can I bring my lunch?
Outside food/drink cannot be brought inside the event venues. Food options will be available at both venues.
Can my baby or child attend for free?
The ticket cost is the same for all ages. Each person must have their own ticket including children.
Can I bring my camera and take pictures?
Cameras will not be allowed in any venues. Please leave them at home.
Will there be a sign language interpreter and/or captions provided?
We are currently planning on offering captioning at both events. A sign language interpreter can be requested in advance for the event on May 11. Please visit the Rose quarter website or call their box office in regard to specialty accommodations.
What is the handicap accessibility? Is there accessible parking?
Guests requiring specialty accommodations with seating or parking should contact the venue box offices directly.
Is there a private first aid area?
We will have a doctor on call at all events. Additionally, the venues will have first aid available for any instances which occur.
I have tickets I won’t be able to use. Can I give them to someone else?
There are currently no restrictions on ticket transferability.
I am not familiar with Portland. Can you recommend hotels in the area?
I would like to be a vendor at these events. What do I do?

Are tickets available for the music performance on May 11?
Separate tickets are NOT available for the concert portion of the event by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. The performance will conclude the full day of programs on May 11, which begin at 9:30 am at Veterans Memorial Coliseum.
